JUNIOR programs


Junior programs are for athletes ages 10-13. These programs continue to develop techniques and skills as athletes begin to specialize in their chosen discipline of Alpine, Cross Country, Freeride, Freeski, or Snowboard. Training frequency varies based on the program, with a minimum of 51 days on-snow up to 127 days on-snow for students enrolled in a combined athletic and academic program. Teams are formed based on age classification (U12, U14), discipline, and ability.

TEAMS

Athletes in this program are encouraged to compete in local competitions to gain competitive experience. Competitions vary based on discipline.

Training Schedule
65 days on-snow
1 pm - 3 pm on Friday (optional)
9 am - 3 pm* on Saturday, Sunday
Additional weekdays during holiday breaks
*Cross country is 9 am - 12 pm

EXPANDED TEAMS

This program requires additional commitment to the sport with nearly double the number of training days. Athletes in this program are highly encouraged to compete in local competitions with additional opportunities available based on ability.

Winter

The Winter Program allows students to maximize their time on snow by combining world-class athletics with college preparatory academics. Students attend classes at Sugar Bowl Academy during the winter season and train 6 days per week. The Winter Program includes 93 school days and 107 days on-snow. Athletes specialize in one of the following disciplines: Alpine, Cross Country, Freeride, Freeski, Snowboard.

Full Year (8th grade only)

The Full Year Program allows students to maximize their time on snow by combining world-class athletics with college preparatory academics for the full school year. Students attend classes at Sugar Bowl Academy and train 6 days per week with athletic conditioning in the fall and spring and on-snow training during the winter. The Full Year Program includes 175 school days and year round athletics. The Full Year Program is available for students in grades 8-12.
