Located on Donner Summit near Lake Tahoe, Sugar Bowl Ski Team lays the foundation for passionate skiers to embrace challenge with grit, grace and courage.
Our Freeride program is a progressive ski education program that focuses on the fastest growing disciplines of alpine skiing.
We’ll help your child perfect advanced skills through on-hill training, dry-land training and video review, including edging, balance, line selection, proper jumping techniques, steep skiing techniques, control, fluidity, strength and fitness, injury prevention and backcountry education and awareness.
Along with these fundamental skills, we’ll also teach your child life skills – both mental and social – including sportsmanship, camaraderie, friendship and team unity, to help them not only succeed, but to win or lose with grace, maturity and class.
Our very low athlete-to-coach ratios mean your child will have a faster learning curve and more personalized attention.
We also offer a developmental (non-competitive) freeride group, which teaches younger skiers (as young as 10 years old) who wish to focus on freeride tactics but who still require some basic foundational development before entering into a more advanced competition focused program.
