Located on Donner Summit near Lake Tahoe, Sugar Bowl Ski Team lays the foundation for passionate skiers to embrace challenge with grit, grace and courage.

Based at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort and utilizing the Royal Gorge trail system, this program will challenge young adults from ages 6-13 years old who have interest in Nordic skiing and are motivated to improve in the sport. Utilizing the best current athlete instruction models, this program is focused on age appropriate skill development and fun.

Kids will explore a variety of terrain, play games, spend time touring trails, and get introductions to biathlon and orienteering. They will build technique and feel for snow. Endurance athletics are closely linked with youth brain development and long-term health.

Gliders will largely focus on classic skiing, while Development groups will use both skate and classical techniques throughout the winter. This includes an introduction to competition for those athletes interested, taking advantage of the expertise of the Sugar Bowl Academy Nordic coaches.
