Located on Donner Summit near Lake Tahoe, Sugar Bowl Ski Team lays the foundation for passionate skiers to embrace challenge with grit, grace and courage.

THE MOST CROSS COUNTRY IN THE COUNTRY.

Based at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort and utilizing the Royal Gorge trail system, this program will challenge young adults from ages 9-14 years old who have some experience in Nordic skiing, and are motivated to improve in the sport. Based on a Norwegian training model, this program is focused on age appropriate skill development and fun.

Kids get outside in a healthy way on nordic skis, using a variety of fun and games, trail exploration, introduction to biathlon and orienteering to build technique and feel for snow

The program uses both skate and classical techniques throughout the winter. This includes an introduction to competition for those athletes interested, taking advantage of the expertise of the Sugar Bowl Academy Nordic coaches, Martin Benes and Will Sweetser.

This program is based on building the mind, body, and spirit of each participant; the coach, Sarah Dominick, has been working with Nordic skiers of all ages for over 20 years and is a registered yoga instructor.

As with all Sugar Bowl Ski Team programs, the primary goal is for the Nordic skiers to have fun while challenging them physically and mentally side by side with teammates and expert coaches.
