Academic Achievement Awards

The award is to recognize skiers for outstanding academic achievement beginning at the 4th grade level. To qualify the skier must be a current member of the Sugar Bowl Ski Team and have applied in writing for the current year’s participation in the Sugar Bowl Academic Awards Program. (Home schooling is accepted). Application and info for 2008.

Mt. Lincoln Scholarship Awards

Mt. Lincoln Construction owner and founder Paul Zarubin instituted a scholarship award in 2001. The purpose of the award is to foster the development of young talented athletes in our program, and is directed to second-year J4's and first year J3's. Mt. Lincoln also gives $1,000 to the Ski Team for every new house they build at Sugar Bowl (and $500 per remodel). Paul's support is greatly appreciated by everyone at SBST.

Tricia Hellman Gibbs Sportsmanship Award

Sportsmanship awards are awarded one each to the boy and girl who exhibit the following qualities, in the opinion of the Program Director, Head Coach, and Head Development Coach:

Consistent effort
Willingness to help others, including other team members and team coaches
The ability to win and/or lose with grace
Effort to attend all assigned training sessions
A desire to work hard and improve their level of skiing, regardless of what level they start from

Each of these athletes will receive a $250 scholarship towards the following year's membership dues. These athletes' names will be engraved on the perpetual SBST Sportsmanship Award trophy.
