Fundraising is essential to increasing the quality of the Sugar Bowl Ski Team programs, enriching the lives of each athlete who walks through our doors and maintaining the health and composition of our unique community. Throughout our history, the Foundation has received incredible support from countless individuals, foundations and corporations who believe in our mission. This generosity has been critical to the Foundation’s success and its ability to ensure the highest level of programmatic excellence.
While Ski Team and Academy fees make up a majority of the budget, roughly $710,000 comes from fundraising. Below are initiatives that help bridge the gap between dues and actual program expenses. We hope that each family will give at a level that is meaningful to you and we expect everyone to participate.
The Sugar Bowl Ski Team & Academy is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization−all donations are tax deductible. For your convenience the Foundation’s Federal Tax ID number is 94-3171879.
The Annual Fund is the most important Foundation fundraising campaign. Each year, all parents, board members and staff are asked to contribute to the Fund. The Annual Fund is critical in making up the difference between revenues and actual operating costs. In addition to providing essential revenue, a broadly supported Annual Fund demonstrates a commitment to our community and sends a powerful message to outside corporations, foundations, major donors and friends who also support our organization. Because 100% participation is so important, we expect every family to participate.
Silver Belt Dinner and Auction
February 18 and 19, 2017 the Sugar Bowl Ski Team & Academy will host its annual Silver Belt Auction/Dinner and Race.
The festivities begin at dinner on a Saturday evening with silent and live auctions, as well as an opportunity to bid on your favorite team that will compete for glory in Sunday's Silver Belt Race. Should your team be victorious, you'll earn some of your winning bid back. In addition to this event being a great opportunity to connect with fellow community members, it's one of the major fundraising initiatives that provides critical scholarship assistance and program support to our athletes.
The Village Ball is a culinary event for the Sugar Bowl homeowner community and will be taking place on December 27, 2016.
